  • Six Breathwork Session

    Weekly drop-in breathwork sessions facilitated live by Mark, open to all active participants. Join when you can. Each session stands alone and meets you exactly where you are in your journey. Recordings available.

  • Eight Personal Emails

    Throughout your six weeks, you'll receive personal emails from Mark — one when you begin, one to open each week, and a closing email after the container ends. Brief, warm, and written for you.

The Anabasis is the book you read from.

Each week opens with a teaching — a sacred framing for what the week holds — followed by a ritual and five journaling prompts.

The name comes from the ancient Greek: the ascent, the return.

It is Persephone's word for coming back into the light, changed and carrying gifts. When your package arrives, The Anabasis is the first thing you open. It tells you everything you need to know.

 

THE CALYX. Your Sacred Journal

The Calyx is the book you write in.

No sections. No structure. Just open, dot-grid pages from the first entry to the last — a vessel that holds whatever the journey pours out.

In botany, the calyx is the cup that cradles the flower before it opens. In the Eleusinian Mysteries, the sacred cup held the sacrament that changed everything.

I'm Mark Worster — founder of The New Mysteries, a nurse, a breathwork facilitator, and a student of the mysteries for more than two decades.

I built The Anabasis because I believe this work deserves a real container — sacred space held with reverence, guided with care, and offered to those who are genuinely ready to go inward. Every week, I'll be in the breathwork room with you.

Every week, an email from me will arrive in your inbox. I am not a distant course creator. I am your guide — present for the full six weeks.

  • The container runs for six weeks on a consistent rhythm —three days on, every other day, with rest days in between. You choose the schedule that fits your life and stay with it for the full six weeks. After the container closes, a rest period follows before beginning again. Full practice guidance is provided inside The Anabasis and shared with accepted participants before you begin.

  • No. The Anabasis is designed for beginners and those who are curious and spiritually open. You don't need any prior experience — only a genuine willingness to enter the container with reverence.

  • The New Mysteries provides everything accepted participants need for their six-week sacred practice. Full details are shared privately upon approval — before any payment is made. We provide complete guidance inside The Anabasis.

  • Mark facilitates a live 90-minute breathwork session weekly, open to all active Anabasis participants. Sessions are drop-in. You don't need to attend every week, and recordings are available if you can't make it live. The schedule is shared upon acceptance.

  • You fill out a short application below. We read it within 48 hours and respond personally. If it's a fit, you'll receive a payment link and your package will ship within a few days of payment.

  • We'll respond with kindness and honesty. Sometimes the timing isn't right, or this particular container isn't the right fit. We'll do our best to point you toward what might serve you better.

  • Both. The Anabasis itself is self-directed — you move through the books at your own pace, in your own sacred space. The breathwork sessions and community are the group dimension  and are available but not required.

  • The New Mysteries is a church founded by Mark Worster, rooted in the ancient mysteries. We offer sacred containers for those who are drawn to the ancient  mysteries — seeking transformation, expanded consciousness, and a  deeper relationship with the Divine — held with reverence, intention, and genuine pastoral support.
