The Church
The New Mysteries is a religious organization organized and operated under the laws of the State of Delaware as a nonprofit corporation. The church qualifies as a church entity under Section 508(c)(1)(A) of the Internal Revenue Code, which provides that churches are automatically considered tax-exempt as 501(c)(3) organizations without the requirement to file for official recognition by the IRS. This designation affords the church all the rights and responsibilities of a 501(c)(3) entity, including exemption from federal income tax, while also exempting it from filing the annual IRS Form 990 informational returns.
Under Delaware law, the church is governed by the Delaware General Corporation Law, with bylaws that establish its ecclesiastical governance and operational procedures. Delaware does not require churches to file the bylaws with the state, but the church maintains these as part of its governance documents to ensure compliance.
By operating under Section 508, The New Mysteries maintains full religious, financial, and administrative autonomy while adhering to the applicable federal and state regulations governing nonprofit religious organizations.
